slip clutch

Hi Guys.
I want to put a new PTO seal on my Farmall H, how do I take off the slip clutch, I took the grease connections out and removed the roll pin but the slip clutch does not come off, I thank you for any help you can give me Thanks again Ken.

Slip clutch or ORC? If it"s an ORRC you"ve done the correct thing and it"s stuck on the shaft splines. Try penetrating oil

I think you mean an over running clutch. Check real close some of them not only had the roll pin they also had a set screw 90 degrees to the roll pin. It keeps the clutch from walking.

If there is not any set screws then it is just stuck. Take a good wooden block and a BIG hammer. Hitting the shaft side ways will usually get them to rock lose. If that does not work then set a block against the rear end housing and use a long pry bar to put force on the clutch. Then rap on it again.

After you get it off, and the seal replaced, clean the spline up real well. Then anti-seize the heck out of it.

Also check the PTO shaft to see if the quill bearing is bad too. That can make the seal leak. So if it is bad replacing the seal is just a temporary fix.
