Fall. Its here.

Worked around the farm yesterday and while it got warm in the afternoon, it wasn"t the same. Feels like fall now.

Dont say it so loud, I love fall, but the one that comes after that, not so much, especially as I get older

I had a little bit of frost on top of some round bales where the sun wasn't shining on them about an hour after sunrise yesterday morning. They said Michigan was the coldest place in the entire US,even colder than Alaska.
Glad it wasn't any worse,I've only got about 15 acres of corn that's even dented. I need some more summer.

Considering it was 95 in Dallas and 90 in Shreveport yesterday (per weather channel) you and me must have a different definition of fall.

But I guess that does feel pretty good when 102 to 105 is normal for summer.

It really does not need to get much cooler for me to feel better. In a couple of weeks the fronts will start coming threw again. And while they may not be cold fronts they will be dry lines that reduce the dang humidity.

Same here, Nancy. Yesterday was very hot then last night we had rain and today real windy, taking down leaves that are still very green, and the clothes off Mrs 40s washing line....just saw a shirt go past the window!. I think I should call her to go collect the clothes before we have nothing left to wear!!!!
We had a couple of ground frosts this week, most of the harvest is done here except for some spring barley and of course the corn. Winter wheat planting is well through....at least this year the ground is dry... last year the wheat went in to paddy fields!!

Yep,its here...I was cutting hav the other day(just before ALL the rains)A COLD fall wind was blowing.Wont be long till there's a fire in the stove.....

Here in NWIA it's 60 degrees, cloudy, dreary and windy, just like a good o'l fall day in Iowa should be. Good day to get a lot of work done. Our 70 percent chance of rain last night dissipated into thin, cloudy air. Jim

It"s still dry and in the mid-80"s here in the Mission Valley of Montana and they keep promising a change to cooler temps. If they do that long enough, it will surely happen!

Supposed to be a bunch cooler tomorrow around Spokane. Tonight we are supposed to get a storm--hope we get rain, not just wind.

But right now it is about 85. I have jobs I should be doing outside, but they will wait til tomorrow when it is more comfortable. The weather people are predicting a high of about 70, which would be a nice change.

Winter is coming. But not just yet. Lots of years we have had frost at our elevation by Sep 15, but so far it has not even been close. I will plan on covering parts of the garden tomorrow night and through the week, and then see what happens.

Any snow showing on the Mission Mountains yet? I love the scenery around your area. My inlaws lived at Mission for years. Good luck!

There"s only some snow on the NE side of the Sheep"s Head right now and it"s just those normal snow fields up there. I"ve seen first snow on the Missions in August but this has been a warm dry summer. It followed a cool, dry Spring, a moderately wet Winter and a darn dry Fall. They classify us as "abnormally dry" on the drought monitor. We had enough irrigation water and I got on it early so the grass looks good, much better than last year at this time.

Yeah this country is easy on the eyes but we are having a real problem with the water rights now. The CSKT is claiming all of it!

Summer's definitely gone here in southeast Idaho. The high 80's to 90's is gone now, replaced by 70's. It may be back, but not for more than a couple of days. It definitely feels like early autumn now.
