pierce governor help

Hi
I have a loader with a V6 that had gear driven governor modified with a pulley welded to gear, it wasn't working so I replaced it with a pierce belt driven governor.Picture below:
A connects to throttle
B connects to carb
B has a deflection to the left of about 1" when A is pulled back also opens carb.
Does this sound right or wrong . Need all the help I can get.
Thanks
Larry

It's been about 30 years since I worked with one of those, but I remember I needed to replace the spring with a lighter one. I used one from an Allis Chalmers C or CA. I don't know how I can remember that. Especially since my coworker claims I probably will forget my name.

NOT gonna work with the governor output arm projecting backward like the broken wing on a bat!
Punch out pin and remove so you don't melt the seal and cut it off and weld it back on perpendicular to the centerline of the engine, then install it back on the gov.

Typically, to work with a governor, the accelerator pump needs to be disconnected. Carbs made for such apps sometimes have vacuum operated accelerator pumps.

Here's some crude drawings of setups that have worked for me on a number of such projects over the years:

Bob I may be slow in catching on here but I don't see the difference in your drawing to mine as far as end result, to me mine accomplishes the same thing. If I push gov lever B to left carb opens up, let it go and carb closes. You can't see link to carb under metal plate but it is there. Don't lose patients with me I just may be slow to pick up things at times.

Cheers
Larry
