front coupled hydraulic pump, small dozer

Is there a procedure manual, or reference source you know about for setting up a front mounted hydraulic pump. The pump is separate from the gas engine. Original pump is cracked, a new replacement has different flange mount and coupling arrangement. I can't seem to find much reading material on coupling alignment, etc. Hate to misalign, use wrong coupler, or any other pitfalls. Original manual basically says re-install replacement pump!!! What do you fellas use for guide lines? sld

You need to do some basic machining work, and we need to know what the old mount was, what the new mount is, and what was the old mount, etc. Most methods of coupling a pump allow for a couple of degrees of out of square, or mis-alignment. Pictures of what you are trying to do would help, too.

What machine do you have? Most pumps come with standard SAE mounts and standard splined shaft sizes. So buying parts and setting up is not all that difficult. Now if you've got an old crawler with a big Hydreco pump - you might have to make a few adapters.

I replaced pumps and made new pump drives on my Deere 1010 crawler, Ford 4000 industrial, Oliver OC3, International Harvester 3414 wheel/loader/hoe, 580CK Case, etc. Used aftermarket Ford pump drive parts on all of them that I bought here on this Website.
