JD 145 loader mounting

Bought a JD 1020 with a 145 loader. Paid $500 due to the fact that tractor had a cracked block. Tractor worked ok for use with maintaining two horses. Finally broke down, purchased a replacement 1020 started swapping goods part from one to the other. Trying to swap the loader, all parts from one switches to the other, the only problem is the replacement 1020 has some sort of plug (as hard as a bearing, can't drill) in the hole where the pressure control valve mounts on the side of the transmission case. Spoke with local JD service manager several times with no ideas coming from them. Looking for ideas on how to mount? Thanks

In all my experiences with JD utility tractors of that era I've never seen a plug such as you referred to.Pressure control valve bolts to trans case above sump screen. Can you point out which hole plug is in.

Jim,

Thanks for the reply, I will include a photo but based on your parts manual photo it is on the other side of the trans case. I can get larger view photos of both old and replacement tractor also. this photo is of the mounting location prior and after attempting to drill out

Thanks Patrick

Jim,

If I had scrolled down more I would have seen the other diagrams, just behind the number 15-21 is the plug. You can see that on the photos that I posted.

Thanks

I think I know what the problem is. The tractor you posted photo has an open center power steering pump so therefore doesn't come with a pressure control valve but an "L" fitting. STOP DRILLING and install a "T"(parts key #16) where the "L" is located. I think the plug you're trying to drill out is a BALL staked in the hole.

Your donor tractor should have line (parts Key #1) & elbow(parts key #2)

I will take photos of the donor tractor (I like that term) and the point that the donor pressure valve came off of. Thanks again for you assistance.
