I found out Calif. doesn't let radiator shops boil out radiators anymore. This usually softenes the crud allowing the tubes to be poked out. Tree huggers strike again. How your state? Stan

They can still boil them out here, but radiator shops are becoming few and far between, because of all the throw-away radiators in modern cars. Only one guy still doing it around here, and he has taken to scrapping to supplement his income (and use his time). Progress marches on, I guess.

Just picked up one I had repaired on way home this evening. Boiled out nice and clean, repaired and repainted. "Mountaineers Are Always Free"

My radiator repair guy gets a lot of business from Kalifornia....
I have to drive over an hour to get to him though.

Another WV Mountaineer here. My son was in the truck shed looking for something and looked on the truss joists overhead, where I have several L deere radiators stored, He wondered about a hose on the radiators and poked at it. Turns out a BIG blacksnake was coming out of one and when disturbed crawled completely into the other. Guess there will be no more mice in the radiators.

The fellow who does radiators in my area appears to be so far below the radar, that the state would never find him to tell him to stop it, let alone him knowing that he shouldn't do it.
