hydraulic hose with swivel fitting

I just had a bear of a time removing one of the hydraulic hoses from my Case 580B bucket lift cylinder. There is a swivel fitting at only one end of the hose, and of course, the accessibility was very limited. I have to replace the hose with a new one for reasons you can imagine. Is there any down side to using a hose with swivel fittings at both ends? That would make it much easier to remove hose in the future.

None that I know of. My front end loader has one lift cylinder with a swivel fitting in the cylinder and a swivel hose attached to it.

Just cost; helps to control the cost of prebuilt cables so the
merchant can sell them. If it does the job on one end surely will on
the other.

I restored a JD 95 combine once and had a bunch of them made.
All had swivel on one end and some on two.

I made this hose using reusable swivel nuts. They're single braided hoses. I made them for my hydraulic lift on my garden tractor. Hal

Male pipe thread Swivel hose ends are GUARENTEED
TO LEAK. They have an O-Ring crimped in, to
enable the hose end to swivel. After a certain amount of flexing and movement they will wear, and
drip.
A female JIC,(joint industry Conference)also
known as AN, (Army/Navy)Flare fitting, mated to
a male flare nipple, is the only way to go for
leak and drip free service.

I agree with you 100%, Goat!

A possible alternative to switching to JIC that is DURABLE would be to use a pipe thread M X F swivel, IF there is room.

Some of the ones that are in a bi-otch of a place are better
replaced, with the easiest to put in hose. I take the old hoses into
colliflower store, and the guy there will make you up what you
need. Sometimes a hose costs a hundred bucks, but hey if it saves
2-3 hours of sweatin and cussin, it's worth it!
