Hope the pumpkins make it to Halloween and the sunflowers go to seed so we can pick some before the 4 legged ones get them all.

I have 2 pumpkins, on one vine, I pick off all new flowers, to try and get the goodies all go to the two pumpkins. Last yr, my son bought his 2 yr old son a large pumpkin, and made a jack-o-lantern for the boy. I saved the seeds, and planted 12 this spring, and lost all of them except the one. Trying to impress my 3 yr old grandson this year. I am trying to figure out a safe way to let him ride on my AC B, with me. He sure does like paw paw's tractors.

The cardinals, doves and squirrels usually eat all the sunflowers in short order around this time.

This is the most pumpkins I've ever had come up actually. Saved a bunch of seeds from carving last year, and planted a lot of hills (I made a big garden plot and nobody wanted to plant much, so I filled it up with pumpkins). So hopefully the ones I've got make it.

I hear you're supposed to cut them off when the vine starts to die, then sun cure them for a week, then store them in the basement for up to like 8 weeks. Which would just about hit Halloween for me. Hoping I can wait another couple of weeks before I have to pick them though.
