Two carburetor questions on the Regular:

1. Are you buying cork or brass?

2. If brass, where are you buying them?

Thanks if you can help.

GNPfatboy,

Ok, thanks much.

Did not know of Mark's in Rice, MN.

Rice Equp of PA only has cork - though treated with something for new types of gas. We had seen reference to brass though, so husband wants to go with that.

Go with the 'brass'. No 'coating' can withstand the effects of alcohol over several years. My 15-30 had the tank sealed and less than 10 years later the coating was letting 'go', causing clogging of the screen filters. A real pain, especially when in a parade.

FWIW, I have some NOS IH cork donuts. I would like to find someone who needs them. PN 16876 DX for model R carburetor.

I agree with the others concerning ethanol.

Where's Waldo,
Thank you. That was our concern about a coated cork... would it hold up? Especially when they cost more.

Thanks for sharing your experience.
