new holland 1920 won't start suddenly

I was using my New Holland tractor for about 2 hours today. turned it off. went back about 10 min later and it won't start. won't turn over - nothing.
battery is charged. fuses look okay. wires unchanged from earlier. any thoughts?

You need a test light or volt/ohm meter to check where you have power to. There maybe a fuse-able link wire in the supply to the switch. You also could have had a switch fail when you started it the last time. This did not show up until you went to restart it.

So take the test light or volt/ohm meter check to see if you have power to the switch. If you do have power to the switch then check the crank circuit out. The power will go through some safety switches. Usually on the PTO and clutch or neutral start switch on the transmission. You just have to trace where you have power and where you do not.

Check underneath the tractor for wires unplugged. I have experienced this a few times. Wires hang weeds etc and unplugs the wires. Tractor thinks the pto is on or the tractor is in gear.

Take your battery ground cable off and clean all connections at your battery until they're shiny. Do the same thing at your starter and starter solenoid if it has one. Check those spades/lugs on your battery cables for any corrosion. Shine them too. Hal

Sounds like the nuetral safety switch, I have to jiggle the shift lever around while turning the key on our 1920, been like that for a few years now.
