Then Memphis Belle flew over. Nearly directly overhead. Close enough that I could easily see all the lines on the Air Force Emblem. She was at an airport 15 miles away for the weekend. I had seen her overhead in PA last weekend.

Surprising, how slow they appear to fly...!

I was down to Manchester today and heard the roar too.
Looked up and was thinking it had to be the Memphis Belle!

We went to the "Gathering of the Mustangs" a few years ago. So wonderful to see and hear those old technological marvels of 70 years ago fly over and perform. Just shows that good designs last.

Had a guy that worked for me that flew B17's - after WWII spraying cities for mosquitoes, until the chemicals that they were using were banned and put them out of business. I can imagine the roar of a B17 flying low over your house.

Was working in W.Hartford,Ct,a couple of weeks ago, and it flew
over and circled Hartford a couple of times before going up to
Bradley Int.airport.They said they were showing it at the New
England Air Museum.Real neat sound to those airplane engines.
