Noticed they were made in china!!!!! Had some years back that was ok. Been having shoe trouble as of late.

That word says it all.
I have a pair of Carrolina Loggers I wore for Nine Years and are still comfortable. Only problem, they are cracked open and leak. Union made in Pa. Had to import myself, stopped selling in Canada since they shut their Montreal factory. Good value for $150 boots.

SOME of Redwings shoes are made in the USA. You have to watch which ones you buy.

As far as the Carolina Work shoes. I have had a few pairs in the past. They seemed like a cheaper shoe than the US made Redwings. They did not hold up very well for me. I do not know ti Carolina made/makes different grades of shoe an I got the cheap one or what. I just remember they did not last well.

i have used both red wing and Carolina. I currently have a pair of Carolina and they are made in the usa. they are pretty good boots in my opinion. red wing are good boots but I think their quality is not as good as it used to be either.

My Carolina Loggers came from China. They have worn alright, one set of heels and soles and ready for the next set, but I think I ll just replace them. The rebuild is about 65.00 and new boots are around 175.00, the boss will pay for the first 125.00. I can get six or seven months out of a set of soles.

Carolinas don't hold up for me. To tell the truth, I'm going shopping for some surplus military boots. I've seen some that look decent for what I want for under $40.00. I'd lots rather spend $40.00 than $100 and spending over $100.00 for any boot is ridiculous IMO.
