Super 55 before and........during

I got the wheels and grille painted on the wife's Super 55. I'll get around to painting the rest of it eventually. I know, the center grille strip is supposed to be green, but on the red wheeled "Improved Super",I just think red looks better and I'm the one who has to look at it. I hope I got the yellow about right. I had a quart of Deere yellow. I started adding Oliver red wheel paint and stirring it in until it didn't look like deer urine anymore.

rrlund, I think you are in MI, how does your open shed work for you? Does it face east? Thinkin' about building one for haybine, rake, and disk, but very low...maybe 6' open side facing east because of prevailing west wind.

That's open to the south for cattle. I've got two like that. The sun shines in it in the winter and it shades them when the sun is higher in the summer.

They had a restored 1962 Oliver 550 at the Hart-Parr show up for raffle. I was really hoping to win that - and I would have kept it and put it to work.

Looking great. Besides painting the rims, did you change the rear tires, tread pattern looks a little different?

I changed one. The darned thing started to bulge out at the rim and the wires in the bead were rusted away. Lucky it didn't blow.

Good looking 55, I restored a 550 and really like it. Oliver put out some good equipment. It runs my 7 ft. Brush hog just fine, and much more maneuverable than my Ford 4000. Does the Super 55 have the duel range trans.??

Wow Randy, that's makes her perk up. Looks good to me. I think you should bring her up to Blanchard. I think there are more than me that like to look at tractors that aren't finished. I like the ones in there work clothes, and the ones drug out of the fence row. Always something different to look at that way.
Also MI AC Parsons asked about an open faced shed. Mine faces East and it catches all the East wind with snow and rain. I think on facing South would be better, like Randy's.

Randy, I'll come by the thrasher to see if your there Friday.
RayP(MI) are you going to be there Friday. If so I'll look for ya. Probably be wearing my straw cowboy hat, it's supposed to be sunny.
