That is just the junk off the top, they have to push it off the top with a dozer to get to the good stuff, Looks to be shale, if it is it would make a-1 driveway base.

Larry, if there is enough of it, it might pay to get a crusher and make what they call modified for roads and driveways. It's also sold as is for fill. It has a lot of dirt mixed with it also. Good modified is crushed stone and stone dust. Crushed stone and dirt doesn't pack real good and doesn't hold up well on roads.

Find a piece of slate that looks like Jay Leno's profile and put it on eBay. Jay himself sometimes buys Jay look-alikes.

I got a driveway across the field with several mud holes. We're talkin' lose your 4WD truck in the mud type mud holes. A few loads of that would firm it up nicely

Larry, If you ever find a real ggod use for that rubble except fill or crushing you could be a very rich man. There is absolutely millions of tons of this stuff in Susquehanna County alone. Good Luck.

Larry another use of this product is when they run out of stone in a quarry they are suppose to fill it back in and make it much like it was before they started digging. I can't believe it but it is worth cleaning as much as 20 or more feet of this material to get to a 3 or 4 foot seam that they can cut stone from that's good flag stone.
