magneto drive

I have an H Farmall that has jumped time, 180 degrees, several times. The first few times, it was a sheared key in the mag drive, but I fixed that several years ago. Now it has done it again. This time the mag drive and all timing marks are fine. I had a local mag guy look at my magneto, and everything checks out fine. Any suggestions?

It may be your timing gear this time. Remove the No1 sparkplug near the radiator and bring that piston to TDC on the compression stroke. Remove the valve cover and see if both valves on that cylinder are closed. Hal

You might check to see if the drive can move forward enough to slip out of the groove. I have had that happen on an Allis B. The end of the shaft wore a hole in the governor cover letting the gear and drive move forward to where the magneto could jump out of the drive. Not sure a Farmall H is made the same way.
