Found a 1970 gas powershift, single hydraulic, no 3pt, good
shape. Are these rare he is asking 7000 also comes with
farmhand loader? Is there 122 of these ever built?.

I've always hears it's on the rare order. They had one with a Bushog mower on it at the local elevator for a few years. I think it was privately owned by one of the employees. Jim

Not rare but uncommon.
In hind sight Deere should not have built the 3010/3020 but built all 2510 & 2520's only.
The Dubuque four cylinder is superior to the Waterloo four cylinder.

A JD 2520 gas power shift is not common but I do not think they are rare either. I have seen several and bought/sold two. I would think there would have been many more than 122 ever built.

There are many people trying to PUMP up the rarity for many models of the JD 2520s right now. They are at the "hot" stage of collecting right now. I believe very little of the scuttle butt on the JD 2520s.

There where a good many of them built. They where/are a good tractor. It seems like I hear of guys having a "rare" one a few times each month.

A neat thing about these little tractors is how easy it is to put a diesel engine in. The engines were used everywhere so they're easy to find also.
I suppose I "ruined" the originality of my 2520 when I replaced the underneath exhaust with a vertical one. Then I put in a diesel. And a bigger hyd. pump. And an oil cooler, and a second SCV. And added a roll bar.
The hype makes me wonder if I should sell it. But what can I get that's as good?

To a collecter you ruined it,but if you are going to farm with it you did the best thing for it.A 2510 or 2520 is a very handy tractor,we have one of each and both are diesel. They are a snappy tractor that are a pleasure to run.
