At what point in time was the switch made from Alemite grease fittings to Zerk type fittings? My oldest tractor is a 29 model with alemites, my second oldest is a 47 model with zerks so the switch was made at some point in those 18 years. Zerks are a definate improvement as they take grease so much better. Joe

There were actually several changes. I ran across a web site once that pictured the different fittings and told what years they were used but I can not find it now.

I am 70 + years old and was always told the change was phased in sometime after 1933 but not all companies were fast to change so some new equipment might have the older fittings on up for a couple of years or so. Just what I was told.

That artical said alemites are button heads and if so they are still used today on construction equipment.
