John Deere 2 cylinder PTO speed

Anybody have the numbers on what speed the PTO shaft turns at on JDA, B, G, 50 60 etc tractors at medium to fast idle such as the speed you would run belt driven equipment at if you had the tractor belted up.

When you need power you run at full throttle which gives 535 pto same with belt pulley you use at full throttle as the machine you are powering is made so the tractor runs full throttle. What are you trying to do to only run partial throttle.

I want to drive a 5 gallon ice cream freezer and I need the freezer to turn between 30 and 35 rpm so I am trying to size a gear reducer so I need to know how fast the tractor PTO turns to get the reduction correct. I figure medium idle speed would be plenty.

For that idle should have enough power and if you know wngine speed at rated PTO RPM and know what idle engine speed is them you can do some math to figure idle pto speed. Devide engine speed by 535 pto speed and then take that result and devide the engine idle speed by that figure and you will have an idle pto shaft speed. Then you will still need about a 3 or 4 to 1 gear reduction.

Battery has not been an issue because for years I have run it on an A that has a magneto. Even using the 50 I idle it up and it only takes about 45 minutes to make a batch.

So when you hook it up now how fast does the freezer run. Just mite need a jackshaft so you can get your RPMs rite

Right now the freezer turns between 30 and 35 rpm at what I'd call medium motor speed. Not at idle but not as fast as I have seen belt driven equipment at shows such as threshers ran. The gear box I have now is sized right but something shelled out in it after 20+ years and i need to get a new one. It has no labels or identification on it and I got it out of a junk pile when i got it. Anyway at the time I had access to tools to check speeds etc but now i don't so i am trying to figure out what size reducer to buy.
