O/T 78 Year old out in the Wrangler

As some of you may know Dad passed away earlier in the year aged 79, leaving my mother on her own. I try to take her out to our place for a few days ever three weeks or so and involve her in as much of our life as possible. My oldest son was 30 at the weekend so there was a family and friends BBQ, this is Mum on her way home after it all. She has fancied a trip in the Wrangler with the top down for a while now so today was that opportunity. We didnt get far before she decided it might be better with the top up as she was feeling the cold but a mini adveture none the less for an old lady. Temperature over here to day was 16c so not really warm for using a convertable.

Here's some advice for your Mom:

Don't let 'em take your driver's license. No matter what. Make 'em give you one just for and ID if no other reason.
My mother has arthritis so bad that she had just about given up driving and was going to forgo her renewal. Then my dad had a small heart attack and COULDN't drive. No way to get to appointments, nobody else to take them to the store, etc.

78 isn't so old; ask me how I know. Only 4 more months and I'll be 79. Don't have as much stamina as I used to, but I still do my own work plus woodworking - just takes me a bit longer to do the work.

One thing that I don't do though is ride in open vehicles; with my allegies I would get sick before we made a half a mile.

Way to go Bill. I bet she had fun!! I'm 79 and can say I appreciate fun, keep that wonderful ole gal in your life as long as you can.
She looks like a charming person.
Warmest regards,
LOU
