We just returned from Oklahoma via I-44. We saw close to a dozen road-killed armadillos as far north as close to Rolla, Mo. How far have these things expanded their range? Do you have them by you, Old?

I am within 10 miles of the Kentucky border , Northern Tenn. and they have showed up here pretty strong this year.

10 miles east of Rolla here on I-44. Dang things have been around here for probably 5 years. Taking round bales of hay out of my barn a couple of years ago, under the bales were mounds of dirt. Dang things. A couple of weeks ago I was cleaning up a brush pile. Saw one, thot I would sure get him with the crawler. Tried to get him with the bucket a couple of times, he jumped and away he went. To fast for a 953 crawler, lol.

I have killed a good many of them. Last year they where real bad but this year it seems all this rain has washed them away. As for the round well lets just say I collect ammo that will pretty much do any thing I want or need it to and a simple 22 round will stop on of them Texas speed bumps. The rounds that are fun to shoot are the tracer rounds at night

Our contribution to all y'all North of I-20.

A side note, they taste pretty good. Not sure if it's worth the trouble though, some seems to think they're of a carrier of some problem. We ate them in the '50's, ain't nothing happen yet, duh, ain't nothing wrong here lately. :-(

Just kidding!!!

I saw one out hunting near Kanopolis Lake in Central Kansas a few years ago. Just saw two on I-135 dead on the side of the road north of Wichita this weekend.

dozens killed here every night near Nashville TN. Must be more prolific than possums.

heard of some kids vacationing in Fla. a few years ago that picked up a bunch of roadkill armadillos and after they got back north a ways tossed the deceased critters out onto highways as a joke maybe some of em werent quite dead?

We used to have a lot of them around the farm.

About two years ago started seeing carcasses. Something learned how to make a meal of them. I haven't seen a live one for quite some time.

I think it has something to do with external_link care and voting rights. They are moving fast. Especially out of Arizona.
