Hi all, I have a question has anyone used this site doe manuals books etc gobookee? Several times I've searched for manuals for equipment and they come up saying they have the manual and it free to downlaod but when you go to download it requires your CC number which I don't really understand why, any insight to this.

If they require a credit card number, something isn't "free".
I don't know anything about that outfit, but something smells bad.

P.S - I just looked over their website and could find no explanation for it. The only suggestion I have is to use the "contact us" tab at the top to ask them what it is all about. I would be [u:aa11d4d65e]very[/u:aa11d4d65e] cautious about handing out CC info.

you have to use your credit-card to get the manual "free", but they charge you a monthly fee for the service. if you cancel within the "free" trial period there is a cost to cancel your service. hence the credit-card.

Run!

I've found that site a few times lately. It just sounds like a scam to me. There are a lot of sites I just don't trust. Same with parts suppliers that don't list a physical address. Right, I'll order from someone with no physical address and phone number listed- in a pigs eye!

I have tried them two times. Each time it takes a couple hours to get my computer running right again. Have to run all my scans and virus removers.

Don't you think it's just a little bit too convenient that this site, which has no "farm flavor" at all, just happens to have exactly what you are looking for?

There are lots of sites like this out there. They will tell you that they have exactly what you are looking for, no matter what it is, for FREE. It's a scam. They want your credit card, or your personal information, or they want to install a virus on your computer.

Even if they have the manuals (they probably don't), they're likely being distributed illegally.

Spend the $20 on a manual from a reputable source.

gobookee is a search engine. If you think about it,
if they can get you a manual that means it's online
somewhere for them to get it for you. I do a little
searching and find it myself. For free. If you can't
find it they are probably blowing smoke and don't
have it either.

Ok thanks fellas I had the same thoughts most of you posted, I DID NOT sign up just didn't feel right. As for the manual I was / am looking for I couldn't find it anywhere but I'll keep searching and I also know more about the machine that I want the manual for.
Its a Turfco Bantam sod cutter about a 1976 vintage and yes I was suspicious when they were the only ones to have a manual listed Thanks for the replies
