Silage Horsepower

I hope this works. Here is the horsepower/treadmill that I was talking about last night.

Don't have any basis for knowing, but offhand, it looks like a lot of work for Dobbin, both chopping and elevating at the same time. But there's only one way to find out!

Kinda gives a bit of competition to the 1100 hp silage machinery on demo to farmers around here!

Hi Sam, does a fuel truck comes as part of the deal?
What is farm Diesel selling for in Ireland?
Notice several Claas SP silage choppers when we were in UK a few years ago.
JimB

This one is for 3 horses or mules I think.I haven't got to see them use it.What is remarkable is these fellas build these and use no power tools or electricity. They use a gas torch to weld/braze.If you look close you can see that these units are portable. They move it from farm to farm as needed. There is a variety of these in this area, most not portable.I have got to watch them used to do everything from pump water to power a sawmill.

A lot easier on fuel than the New Holland FR600 JimB,but not as easy as this one horse power unit I saw in La Seuer MN a few years ago! The old nag didn't seem to like working it and whinneyed all the time. Bet it knew if it stopped walking it would land out on it's ar$e! LOL

Are these guys real conservative amish? The amish in my area are really "living" compared to those guys. My amish even have air pressurized running water in the house....

Randy this barn once sat where Dale Hollow lake is.It was moved to this spot before they completed the dam.The hay you can see in it was put up loose.

Pretty conservative. Some of these guys have a horse powered well pump that feeds a stainless steel tank uphill from the house. This gives them running water.
