OT Just like a Tractor...

He wasn't a tractor, but went along like one. He was only 6'2" and went 300#. He was the first Colt into the Hall of Fame. But you'd think you were run over by a tractor if he ran over you. He was one of the first classics. His smile was like the grill on an Oliver, and the pull of a big Farmall. His laugh was like a 2 Lunged JD, just always there and putting along. Reliable and tough.

He's being given a service in Baltimore today- he passed a few days ago of a respiratory infection. May ARTIE DONOVAN play many games in heaven- he has earned it. Great guy, good friend to many. And a legend on the field.

I never saw him play, but he was a legendary character, on radio, and TV. I used to love to hear his interviews with tom smith? or whoever the sports guy was on the oldies radio station, WQSR, or whatever the call sign was before clear channel bought up everything, and started changing call signs! God must have needed a tackler for his team!
