O/T Grand daughters Honda

I always kept my daughters cars running while they were living at home. One had a 64 Mercedes, the other had a 66 Mustang. I understood those older cars fairly well. As they got married and moved from home, they bought new cars the problems went away for old dad, My grand daughter has a 03 Honda Accord. She said the air bag light doesn't go out after the engine is running. I would like to help her, but this problem is above my knowledge. What does this mean? Thanks, Stan

It needs to be scanned with a scan tool with air bag capability to ask the "puter what is irritating it.

Circuit board in the cluster may have a short. My 04 Dakota did this. Dealer replaced entire gauge cluster assembly.

There are a couple of recalls by Honda for airbags. Call the dealer to get it fixed now. One of the recalls concerns sudden deployment of airbag. My daughters car has been back at least twice for that.

Call the dealer with the VIN number and ask if they have any recalls or air bag concerns. There should be diagnostic codes present and they can be retrieved with the diagnostic tool. The airbag should try to deploy in an accident if it can. It is not like ABS which usually stops ABS with a DTC.
