Good pictures. What way does the kitchen floor slop. When there was 7 of us around the table you wanted to pick the high end just in case your brothers or sisters spilled their milk. Mom God Bless her, she must had a lot of energy. No wonder she probably never weighed over 110 pounds.

We have a place here in Iowa, called the living history farm. They actually farm the place with horses. They have a 1880s farm house.you can eat there, they cook the meal on a wood burning cook stove and wear period clothing.

Hmmm, just think of a whole family actually sitting down together at a table to have a meal that mom prepared from scratch ...... many kids nowadays wouldn't know what the heck we were referring to.

You know why the bride used to wear white - to match the other appliances in the kitchen.

While pretty that kitchen doesn't bear much more resemblance to a "working kitchen" in a farm house than the tractor in the next picture resembles a working farm tractor.

That looks a lot like my grandmothers kitchen but by the time I came along she had a gas cookstove. The floor was sawmill boards worn smooth from 50 years of younguns and mopping.
