The bridge Thursday's progress

Not much progress on the bridge project yesterday. They were waiting for loads of fill sand most of the day. The bed is laid for the tubes so I expect to see the tubes laid today. We had .35" of very welcome rain last night. Wish it was more but we'll take what we can get.

County. They laid the first pipe in a few minutes ago. Looks like a big whale laying down there. More pics tomorrow. Jim

You can carve this in stone: tin horns will not last as long as old bridge did. Seen tin horns rust out in less than a decade more than once.

nice to see some common sense out there yet. in my area they're tearing out all the culverts and replacing them with wooden bridges. it seems that the little green people think they're more enviro-friendly and extra funding is available.

If you want it to last put in a reinforced concrete box, they last forever and the enviromental impact of them is less than a wood bridge. I have seen them take out old boxes (75+) years and they beat on them with an iron ball for hours to break them up.
