What a great day, after 6 days last week over 95 degrees it finally cooled down. 56 last knight and 76 for today. Last week it was humid and in the 70s over night. Took a few pics while mowing today.

No hay cutting here....We have started to get American type weather! Our winters have got colder....for years we did not need antifreeze, now we get record lows. We have been burning up for weeks now and last night and all day today we got thunder and lightening and absolute cloudbursts of rain....Parts of Dublin were flooded today!...So humid I just use any excuse to do tractor work just to get into the air-con cab!

I raked today with the 4020 before baling. It was so nice here as well - mid 80's. I felt ontop of the world out there. You probably did as well - beautiful scenery. I can't think of a better "office" from which to work.

Na, tractor runs it well, it's 55 hp, but the hay is really tall, so I mow at a slower speed.

Thats a nice stand, and there seems to be a fair amount of green given how late it is and how delayed the hay season has been, fields near me are over ripe, one tanned out, but for dairy, as this farmer sells it all too, still pretty decent seeing how they use it, I used to deliver his product.

Nice weather for it, I can't recall how many acres over here he does now as its increased a lot, few hundred acres since he stopped with corn and oats, but with the weather this season so much is left standing, they have been bouncing from field to field for some reason, left some wet areas in the middle where they need drain tile, incredible how the weather delayed it, and now its all at once or what you can get, this is farming so..... LOL !

Corn silage is still to short to cut or not well enough formed...It is usually cut in October. Next thing to cut here other than second-cut grass is whole crop wheat or barley for silage. some even cut peas and lupins for silage
