Maybe you have heard the news? We have a new baby in England. He is 3rd in line for the throne..........Wonder if we could wrangle a public holiday out of that one? Just hope he is interested in old tractors!

Big hairy deal. Another worthless celebrety who will grow up in previlege and not add anything constructive to the world. Didn't we fight a war to get out from those people?

I know the loyal subjects are happy but did you ever consider.....

It's just another baby. For the first 6 months they cry, they eat they sleep and they poo in diapers  . Then they start doing other things, but they still poo in diapers for another year or two  . I can house break a puppy in 2 weeks :) . Then the baby starts crawling and gets into everything it can reach. I can break a puppy of getting into things in couple of weeks  , you can never break a kid of that, ever  ! Then the kid starts to talk. At first it's kinda cute :D . Then it goes downhill. Then it turns to how much smarter they are than you, how bad a parent you are, why they should receive an allowance/more allowance, why they should be able to date and why they deserve a car :( . I can put a shock collar on a puppy, or take it for a walk or just pet it for a few minutes, end of the barking. At the end of 2 weeks that puppy will be loyal for life, that kid will not know the definition of loyal until sometime after they turn 18 8) . I get mad at that puppy I can give it away, drop it at the pound, sell it or have it put down. No one really cares. Get mad at your kid and lay a finger on em and some clown wants to put in jail  . So what's the big deal about a baby?

Congratulations to the royal family Sam!
Regardless of people's political beliefs, another miracle was born.
He may grow up to be King, he may never grow up, no one knows.
In any event, the young parents are parents and they have a newborn child.
My God bless them with all the best.

Seems to me that the kids father and uncle have certainly done their part for the British Armed Forces. I dare say that they have done more than their fair share of good for the world.

Wish I had your ability to tell people's future.

My tendency is to agree with you on some things......really, who cares? For people to go nuts over this? Sure, some (maybe one?) of the current royalty actually serve their country, although granted, it must be difficult to remain anonymous....but in reality, it reminds me of an article in (US) Progressive Farmer magazine, where Prince Charles was bellyaching about US farmers, their production practices....how organic, sustainable (???-whatever that is) was so much better than how WE feed the WORLD. And his comments came from a multi-generation welfare family which has not had a real job for.......how many generations?????? Like our current welfare recipients?????

Congratulations, please forgive some of us colonials over here for our remarks. Best wishes. May he grow up in the best of your traditions.

At least it knocked a certain trial off the news.

Best wishes for the young family.

I'm not a Royal Watcher, but I'm glad to see the birth and happiness for the whole family.
I know some people still hold 230 year old grudges against the family of old, but honestly folks, he's just a baby, and he's done no one any harm, so just be glad for the parents, and don't judge him until he's actually done someone some harm. He's in for a rough life as it is, with all the paparazzi etc, and he'll never be able to have the normal life most of us have taken for granted. Feel kind of sad for him really.

Congrats to the parents and to your country Samm.
Yeah, it's just another baby. On the other hand it's nice to celebrate some good news instead of all the dismal things we hear about every day.
As said below, who knows what he will become.
He might become a drunkard and a bum. But a new child always brings new joy and new hope. So that's what we'll focus on here.

Shucks, they should of saved the effort - we Colonies have a full-grown one you coulda" had for free. Ours is already trained in how to live like royalty!

northern ireland, scotland, wales, england = united kingdom. every week i always try and watch "questions to the prime minister". very entertaining half hour. congrats to the royal family.

No, Donjr.....I live on the island of Ireland but I am in the part that is still British!

at first I [i:0baa11a822][b:0baa11a822]was[/b:0baa11a822][/i:0baa11a822] going to reply by saying "BIG FAT HAIRY DEAL", but then I got to thinking, of all the headlines in the news today, it's the ONLY happy news

Sam,

Don't you mean 4th in line for the throne? I think Jeremy Clarkson is 3rd! HAHAHA

He would make a great king. I think he would outlaw work, and make it a law that no one could ever sit in traffic!

I'd love to come visit the great isles some day.

My great great great great great great great great grandfather was in the British navy, spoke French, and moved to North America with his wife from Leeds. I would love to be able to go over and find out more about him. His son fought in the revolutionary war, for the newly formed USA, but, we have nothing to go on, to find out where he came from before. I would love to know more. It might explain my mental issues better!

I found a picture of his great great grandson. There is a striking family resemblance!

JD Seller might know more about my family from his area. Apparently, there is a large group of them that settled in Cetner Township, Morgan County, Ohio.
