Couple Of Cases Hard At It!

I posted this on the Case Board as well, but thought some here might like to see the pics as well. My friend Bill was wanting to shine up his White plow hooked to his 970 so we knocked out another little field of wheat stubble Saturday. The ground was perfect for plowing. We don't normally plow any more around here, so it is really fun the get the old girls out and let them air out. It was completely sunny when we were plowing. When we were done, there was a huge black cloud coming on strong. I just got home and put the tractor and plow in the shed when it cut loose. Rained a very nice eighty hundredths of rain. We are very fortunate so far this year. Beans look great. Pastures are lush. A far cry from last year at this time. Bob

I still like the look of a fresh plowed field. I know all the wizards of smart tell us it is the wrong thing to do but there is something that feels good about plowing the fresh earth over. I guess it is the fact you are closing the book on the last crop and starting new with a fresh page so to speak.

I love the smell of the fresh worked ground.

Asked your friend what model his White/Oliver plow is. I am looking to replace one I sold years ago. The fellows down on the Oliver board are pretty sure the one I had was a 565 plow. It looked just like your friends.

Bill just called me so I asked him. It is a model 546 plow. He said a newer version of the 565.

dunno whats rite ,, I am sold on No-tilo being a fuel and MOST OF AL FUEL and labor saver ,,, however I chizled a area that was maybe compacted , from cattle traffic ,,no tilled the rest ,, the corn was up a full day soomer on the worked ground and up until it got a foot or more hi , it seemed like it was greener and more vibrant and full ,, now , all seem the same across field ,,, You ever notice howa crop would really jump after a cultivating ?.. especially if you get a mild rain serveral days later

(quoted from post at 16:17:48 07/22/13) Bill just called me so I asked him. It is a model 546 plow. He said a newer version of the 565.

Thank You! I now have the model numbers I want for sure. Your plowing job looks real nice.

Those are some dang sweet rigs thanks for posting I'd like to plow some stubble again instead of always breaking out 40 year old grass or alfalfa
