Hi guys it's Bryce. Might have just picked up a Ferguson three bottom three point plow. I have two questions. Firstly, will a TO-30 Pull it? And secondly, if not can I just take the third bottom off, and make it a two bottom? Thanks, Bryce

If I rember right on mine I had to take the center bottom off and move the third bottom forward.

I've never done it on a Ferguson plow, but you can remove a
bottom from most 3 pt hitch plows.
The tail wheel/rolling landside is the trick. You'll want that back on.
Whether or not it will pull it depends on the size of the bottoms,
soil, tire and engine condition, weight added to the rear tires, etc.

We took one off of a Dearborn, just unbolted the whole piece of frame that went with the third bottom. Moved the tail wheel ahead. A neighbor is still using that plow in his garden as far as I know.

Easiest way is to do what JIMKS says. In nice light ground the TO30 should pull it, but it depends on how well your draft control is set and how strong your pump is!

The TO-30 was sold to pull a 3-14" plow but that was too much in most ground, my Uncle had that setup, couple of other neighbors-family had 3-12", most used 2-14" and that is what I had for mine. It is about the same HP as a late John Deere B (rated at 29 verses the B at 28) and the B is rated for 2-14" plows.
