I have around 2,159,010,497,301...free for anyone..

Whoops..mowed yesterday, now only 2,130,489,589,201...

They like my vue...when I head out the drive, by the time I get to the road there are a dozen or so on the hood...color, burnt orange..Now the camry, silver, doesn't attract them at all..

Years ago, plowing the home place I would have to stop the G, turn off the engine and run around to the front and knock the b@$t#rds off the front...tractors run hot with hundreds of the suckers blockin the air....

Not unusual to see them this thick after 3 summers of drought...but gee wheeze, its really ridiculous..

I was swathing Hay until 9:30pm Tue night, and with them jumping around in the headlights it looked like incoming bullets.

I have 3 or 4 resident bats that come right across the front of the tractor lights and eat those grasshoppers non-stop.

Based on my calculations, I will need one million ka-zillion more bats to even up the score a little!

I love mowing at night, cooler, see a little wildlife in the headlights. Have a bat once or twice a year misjudge the loader arms and bounce off them.

In other news, someone found a dead bat on the beach at Alki Point (Seattle) which turned out to be rabid, sending health officials into an arm-waving, running-in-circles frenzy. Anyone who has ever known a person who has touched a bat within the last 28 years is urged to start the rabies vaccination series immediately. Film at 11.
