identify part

I am about to order a fuel pump for my TH Gator but the pump on it looks totally different than what I see for sale?

Looking closely it says "K4 made in USA K" and "GYL2" on the cylinder heads of what I thought was a Kawasaki engine.

My manual and parts for sale on the internet show a round fuel pump. Mine looks like this:

If you read the fine print, it will probably say: "The manufactuer reserves the right to change design at any time". The Asian manufacturers especially have a hard time keeping manuals up-to-date, possibly due to lack of translators.

What does the jdparts site show for your model and serial number?

The style and manufacturer of those crankcase-pulse operated fuel pumps may have changed over the years. As long as the new one has appropriate-sized hose barbs and can be fitted to the mounts, it will function just fine.

Looks to me like it is similar to the DF52-136 at THIS link, but is mounted so we are looking at it's backside.

My searching for "LG808656" finds them all looking similar to: http://www.amazon.com/Stens-520-590-Replaces-Stratton-49040-7001/dp/B001OK4G50

I was hoping it would just plug in but I may have to adjust some of the hoses.

As long as it works, and may cure the shifting idle I (and my son) will be happy.

The pulse fuel pump subs up to the LG808656. They are $34 from JD or $10 from Stens. You will find they will hook right up.
