Carlisle Tractor Tires Opinions

I have a 1650 Oliver I use a little but will be restoring soon for shows. I like Firestone for a work tractor but I don't want to put that much money into this. Has anyone actually had experience with Carlisle rear tires? What is the tread pattern like? (similar to Goodyear or close to a Firestone?) What is the dimensions of the lugs, compared to Firestone? Or I would consider a used set of Firestone 18.4-34, at least 50% within 200 miles or so from 47265, Indiana.

I put a set on the front of my 1600 around 2005, and they're not the worst, but not the best. Some pretty good weather checking in places on them.

I forget what brand is on the back, but Dad had them installed as an agreement we had on me doing all the work and spending the money, and he sprung for the rear tires. Those are holding up really well without any noticable weather checking.

If I think of it I'll look tomorrow when I'm out at the farm.

I put some new ones on the front of my 8n about 8 years ago, USA made from tractor supply and just put tubes in due to leak down from cracks midway of sidewalls. They have never been ran low of air. They sit outside 24/7, used maybe 50 hrs/yr. I am disappointed with mine and would not go with another set. I live just south of Atl., Ga.

I got a look at the tires on my 1600. They're Agri-Masters. Almost 10 years old with lots of sun exposure and still look great. We put some new Coop tires on our 1855 maybe 5 years ago and those are still looking good as well.

Our other 2 tractors (Massey 285, and Massey 165) have Armstrong/Titan tires on them, and they wear good but are more prone to weather checking. The set on our 285 was on a different tractor, then it sat dead for 10 years and they got put on our 285 2 or 3 years ago. Both of those sets are exposed to manure on a very regular basis which doesn't help any tire. Results may be a little different if they didn't soak in manure 300 of the 365 days a year.
