And this is the last reunion there will be. 2013

My in-laws, my wife, and me. And just a few others that left before the camera came out. All total maybe 10 came. My father in-law was 90 on June 1 and is only one of two still alive from the 1929 picture.

I've got a picture from a '23 family reunion but I can't scan it. It's one of those wide angle things. Everybody was wearing suits though. The reunion this year is coming up the 28th of the month, but my aunt Anna passed away the other day. She was 95. The funeral is this coming Tuesday. She was the last of my Dads siblings. My mother and two of my uncles widoes are alive yet. Everybody says we should keep having the reunions for as long as they're alive, but I've got no problem keeping them going after that.

Forgot I had this one. Doesn't seem like it was all that long ago. Mid 90s maybe. They're all gone now. Anna was third from the right.

If you can keep it going it's a great thing!

Unfortunately as folks die off, kids move away, the kids kids don't care (who are those folks), and the interest just isn't there. There came a time for the end.

I wonder if the idea of a family reunion isn't just becoming a thing of the past.

My dad, aunts and uncles are all gone. Family reunions are dwindling for the reasons mentioned. First cousins stayed in touch, 2nd and 3rd are strangers. Too bad really.

There were 92 of us first cousins. We don"t even get into 2nd and 3rd! If the name is the same, yeah, we"re related. Over 200 in Stearns County, MN., and that"s just the males.

That's the way my family has been going to. Only have one brother back in ND and he spends the winters down here in AZ. I still have a couple 1st cousins left, but both are in nursing homes and as ornery as an old sow with a litter.

The wife and I are pretty close with the daughter and her husband of my oldest uncle and with a daughter and husband of the aunt who just died. As long as anybody wants to show up,the six of us will be there anyway.
