Bought the tractor 7 or 8 years ago and it's always had an intermittent 'growl' noise, which to my mind sounded like it was somewhere in the bulls.

Lost the right brake, so had the local Red Mech out to give 'er a new set of brakes.

Think he might have found my noise; right outer bull pinion bearing was totally shot.

Tomorrow I'm diving into 450 acres of summer fallow. We'll see. :>)

This ol' sister works til her tongue hangs out.

Hopin' the 5488 (when it gets here) will take a little load off the old beast. :>)

Allan, Sound like You are running Balls-to-the Walls!! Might be time to bring out your old 966. You know she is solid just a might under shod But stay in Low 4 and she will pull a mile long Santa Fe Freight if need be all day long just not as quickly as your 1066. Anyway, sounds like you got some surenough Real HP coming Take care Be safe!
OBTW Your Alfalfa looks like some real nice hay!
I don't think the Non-High Plains guys understand most Alfalfa in the High Plains id put up at night when the Dew comes back, so it doesn't shatter so bad, just a thought!

Must not be working it too hard you have never said anything about replacing rear ends.that was a annual event on 10s-14s.

Must have been some "real operators" on them, we farmed with a 250 HP 1066 back east, and never had any rear-end trouble beyond the T/A. It did crack the axle and hub the year we weighted the front to plow with it. When we lifted the T/A out after dad spun it backwards down the hill and grabbed some clear pavement, pieces fell out into the case, the clutch hub was barely hanging in there, but the rear end was good.
