2 more inches!!! I am toast! I hate rain

Last year I couldn't buy 2 inches.

This year, I wish I could buy 2 days without rain.

I just got sunk.

I spread $7800 in urea today, and within 6 hours, the ground got 2 inches of rain on already soaked ground. It's all hills. I guess all that got washed downhill and it is now junk in the creek.

Took me 2 hours to get home, going around swamped roads and washed out bridges.

I hope some boat shop is making a profit!

I'm sunk!

Tomorrow I will post pics of the Ford 7000 with the narrow front end. She is so beautiful. Wait until you see her.

I know what You mean! Saw the 11pm weather. Said we are about 4 above normal for the year. Last year on the same day we were over 11 inches behind. Around sunrise this morning, expecting rain to start. Up to 4 inches in the 72 hour forecast. 2 days ago was the first day no measurable rainfall fell in Central, IN in the last 30 days. I went out, & put weed killer around a fence at 1am this morning just to beat the rain.

Just remember one thing you can make some money in the mud but its hard to make a dime in the dust. Did you knife in your fert if you did it will still be there.

Count yourself lucky. Here in cent Wi we are 12 inches above normal. My corm was planted the 2nd of July and my oats the 4th. trying to get the first crop hay in now, only 6 weeks late.

I am just 60 or so miles north of you. I feel your pain. Lots of water. I cut my fertilizer in a few weeks back. Corn is 6' plus now...

Have wheat that needs cut, could really use 4 dry warm days, looks like it may happen this weekend.

Wish I could give you some of mine. First flood was June 29 second was 3 days later. Both floods set a record. The Chevy dealer next door moves his cars to higher ground up the road at the cemetery.

Record rainfall in June in SC. Previous record. set in 1880s? was slightly more. I think we had about 12 inches in June. Managed to get a nice cutting of hay off some fields earlier, none since. Some guys have some well washed hay. People making an effort to combine wheat. Saw a truck and combine in one field today about noon. Hope he got some cutting in, it's raining now at 7:20 PM.

Yeah, I know it has been rough for everyone in the northeast this year! I'm just glad I don't have 70 acres of wheat waiting on the rain to stop...

Here is a picture of the Ford 7000 for urea spreading. I just have a 500 lb broadcast spreader on the back, working in corn that is waist high. With the 3 pt hitch all the way up, I just get over the tops to spread about 45 feet wide with pelletized 46-0-0.

I think I lost it all.

Next year, I am going to knife in N30. This year, I couldn't get to the corn from the time it was V5, until waist high. No chance to knife it in that late. N applicator would have knocked the corn over at that point. I can barely get over it less than knee high.

I like to go right at V5 with nitrogen, but this weather is ridiculous!
