Removing the float from a carburateur on my F 20

This is a K5 from an F 20 farmall. The pin that holds the float in place, is held in place on both ends, in a bracket. Are the ends of this bracket supposed to be pinched tightly together, to hold the pin in place? This one is and I had not ever seen one pinched together so tightly. It looks like this is they way it should be.
Thank you

We moved the tractor from one building to another and she puked out a lot of dead Asian beatles, from the exhaust. She had oil pressure too. She might run in a couple more weeks.

Just snug. Rust on the pin will make it fit tighter. I always crack the drain plug in the oil pan and check for water. Remember "water makum good pressure"

those pins are generally pretty loose. when the carb's assembled, the pin shouldn't be able to move far enough to be a problem.

I have not added any coolant yet. I will try to get the pin to slide out tonight after it cools down a little bit more.
thank you

The pin cant move once the carborater is assembled. No need for it to be tight.I can spell carberator several ways, you pick the one you like.
