steering wheel restoration

I have had quite a few steering wheels restored by Minn-Kota repair. Absolutely beautiful. Just sent 2 and the came back out of business. I have called several times and no response. Does anyone know who may have taken over the business. I can buy new ones, but I refuse to put a Chinese steering wheel on my restorations. Thanks for any help. Fred Wilke

Not good news.

I"ve also had several steering wheels recoverd by MK but have relied on them mostly for torsion springs, and have two sets that I plan to have redone for spares but have been dragging my feet and not yet sent them.

Hopefully, someone will take over this business.

I e-mailed them and asked if they were still in Business and here is the reply:

Hello! Yes it is true. Reasons have nothing to do with the business being in trouble. We are currently looking for a serious buyer - who will keep the standards we have had since 1988. And mainly continue to be USA only. Since closing the business a vehicle smashed into the back end of my pickup when i was stopped at a snow packed intersection ~ so it has been difficult to proceed actively with prospective buyers. Having whiplash has been difficult to say the least.
If you know of any serious people who are close to a rubber factory, please have them email me.
