Can not get spark to wires, can I go from solenoid to thumb switch straight to the coil and bypass voltage regulator, thanks

No. Your voltage regulator has nothing to do with spark to the
plugs, and the thumb switch provides ground, not power.
Does your tractor roll over like its supposed to when you press the button?
If so, leave all that alone.
Is it the original 6V or has it been converted to 12 Volt?
In either case, do you have voltage to the coil when you turn the key on?
If so, on the distributor side of the coil, hook up a test light.
Does it blink on and off when the engine is rolled over?
Let us know what you find. Most of the time with the Fords, its
points or the feed through the side of the distributor, but we need
to narrow it down a bit first!

Sure, its possible to "hot wire" the ignition coil (from a hot voltage source) so you by pass any potential ign switch problems.

Heres my Troubleshooting Procedure if shes not firing..........

Run a wire from the ignition side of the coil to the battery. Check to make sure the points are closed. Touch the battery non-ground side with that wire. You should get a spark when you do so. If you get no spark then the points are bad and need to be cleaned or replaced.

The 600 ignition system can throw a spark a 1/2 inch long. You have to know the basics before you can fix one.
