* How do you Clip chicken Wings ??

I have a problem with chickens Flying over my 6 foot high fence ...
I remember when I was young { looong time ago } my mother clip chicken wings to keep them from fling out of the pen..

My problem is ... How much does one take off ?? and Do you do both wings or just one ??
I know mother used a scissor's..

Any easy suggests will be appreciated

I just clip one side. Just a couple of inches does the job.

We always take the scissors and just clip about haf way up one wing.The chicken looks funny missing feathers on one side but it works great.The only bad part about it is that they will grow back faster than you think they will.

like the others said, clip only one side - you want to make them unbalanced so they can't fly. The feathers near the front of the wing can be kind of tough to cut through, but don't worry it does not hurt them.

Seems like I remember there was a set of short feathers under the big feathers and did not clip pass the short ones.
