Mystery objects from an auction

These came from an auction a couple of weeks ago and no one who has come by has been able to tell me what the first two things do. Someone told me the three end cutter devices were used by blacksmiths when shoeing horses but they did not give details, and the other two things in that photo are still an open question. Any ideas will be much appreciated.

The top item is a potato ricer, which is missing the perferated basket. You put boiled spuds in the basket and squeez the handles and you have light and airy mashed potatoes. It also works for turnips, and winter squash. Also works decent to squeeze skined mators for juice and sause.

I agree with ACG on the potato ricer and 36coupe on the hoof nippers and tire chain tool.
BTW, I"ve seen people try to use the hoof nippers for splitting tire chain cross hooks but they don"t work well as the business ends ends don"t overlap one another.
I think the last item in the third picture is a brake spring removal tool used for drum brakes with rivited shoes.
That item in the second picture baffles the heck outta me!

So it is you who has been bidding against me for junk I don't need and sometimes don't even know what it is? I can't pass-up such a bargain ......either.

We gotta send the American Pickers over to Zach's to help him keep the pile at a manageable level... :)
