What would be a good tractor to replace a 350u? I use it for cutting hay and plowing with a 2 bottom. I would prefer diesel and power steering. And I'm cheep so I need to keep price low. Thanks, jim

We have a 350U gas and its a great tractor. Can you look into putting power steering on yours? What dont you like about the tractor? They have great pulling power for their size.

Cheap may end up being your biggest problem - any tractor that I've seen that was cheap needed a lot of work which usually is not cheap.

Those tractors are the thirstiest machines ever built. I bet a top fuel dragster burns less gas going a quarter mile, than a 350U driving the same distance in the highest gear.

The best, most reliable, and similar in stature would be the Ford 3000 or 4000 diesel.

Just be careful, because some of them were stripped down and didn't have hi-low transmissions.

If you wanted cheap horsepower, you could check out an Allis Chalmers 190xt diesel. Just be sure the brakes and transmission are working good. That was the weak point. You could pull 4 16 bottom plow with that tractor.
