Do you folks east of the left coast have wild artichokes? They are a plant that grows into a rather large plant with 4 or 5 stems about 5 ft h igh. they have a thorn ball on top, a little smaller than a tennis ball. The top has a blue flower that looks like a old time shaving brush. The throns will go through a leather glove. If you don't keep your legs inside the tractor fender, you will pull them in real fast, from the thornes sticking you in the leg. They have a deep root, and will come back each year, even after discing. I have a couple fields I mow that have them. They chop up real good with the mower. Stan
