I have a 1967 Oliver 1650 that has been running great until lately.
It has been rebuilt in the last two years.
At first it started to blow white smoke and lose power. Even moving the throddle has not response.
I cleaned the energy cells and the injector caps and now it starts up quick every time and runs about 10 seconds and shuts down.I took the value out for the flow back to the fuel tank and cleaned it and it runs better but then reverts back to a low idle and power loss.I also changed all the filters and a new fuel pump.
Am i looking at a bad Injector pump?
Just trying to see what you might think the issue is. Like i said, it fires right now everytime but dies within 5 to 10 seconds of running. It will fire right back up after dying. Is there a way to test the injector pump? Tractor is located in texas. Any help would be appricated.

Classic flex ring falling apart in the injection pump. You will need to have the pump rebuilt. If you mechanically inclined it is not hard to do yourself. Your basically just cleaning out all the old pieces of the flex ring and reinstalling new seals and flex ring.

Remove the top return fitting again. I would bet that you have it plugged again with little black pieces of rubber/plastic. Also blow the return line out back to the tank. I have seen them even get plugged.

I was hoping it was not the issue but after everything else i was assuming the worst.
I'll take it to the shop and have them fix it.
Thank you for the advise and quick response.

My pump did exactly the same thing. Flex ring was the problem as stated before. I bought a $30 kit and repaired it. PK
