Guys what is the going rate for tractors doing outside work in your area like bush hogging, road side mowing, rock raking, etc. I know most have a minimum for a small job. Also this is for tractor 40-80 hp figure in truck and trailer to move it, plus insurance. Also this is not "just helping out friend" for fuel cost.

The tractor itself would be in the $25-35 per hour. Then fuel and operator would easily get it to $45-55 per hour. It depends on what type of work you are doing. Pulling a hay rake is a lot different than mowing with a rotary cutter.

Agreed. The risk of damage to a tractor or the rotary cutter is pretty high. There is a reason most places won't consider renting one.

at least 55 per hour and dont forget to charge something for transport time thats costing you too, when brush hogging a pasture/ field i havent been in before i talk to the owner first and if i ask him directly ' what is out there sticking up out of the ground that i need to know about" and he says nothing at all, and then i hit the hidden 2 inch pipe ect he forgot to tell me about he gets to pay for the repairs, rocks are my lookout, as the grow out here and may have not been there the last time he saw the field bare

If you're insured and the whole bit... I think life in that game starts at 100/hour. That's talking about the 80 hp range... Again, that will also depend on what you're doing, etc. If you're talking about a heavy ag type of rock rake... then 100/hour is not really enough.

i was doing this on the side for a few people apx 10 years ago, i was brushoging with a ih 1466 and a 12 foot brushog.they were tracts of land that did not have any homes build on yet apx 15-20 acres. i was getting $65.00 a tractor hour. fuel was a lot cheaper then.

$65 a tractor hour on a 1466? You were getting screwed bad.

An indicated hour on a 1466 is actually much longer than an hour unless you're running at PTO speed the whole time.
