As I recall you might know a few things about the 400 mixer grinder. I need to pick your brain.
I need to replace the bearing at the front end of the auger that goes from under the hammer mill to the gearbox on the bottom of the tub. It takes the ground feed back to the mixing tub. On the front end is the gear to drive it and the pulleys to drive the intake auger.
Here's the problem: there isn't enough room between the gear on the end of that shaft and the frame to get a gear puller in there and remove it. There's only about two inches. If I can get the gear and pulley off there's just a three bolt flange holding in the bearing. Am I missing something? What do I do (short of cutting out the frame member and welding it back in)?
