I HAVE A HYSTER QN-20 WITH A WISCONSIN V4 IN IT. I USE THAI MACHINE OFTEN IN MY REPAIR/WELDING/LATHE WORK/FABRICATING SHOP. DOES ANTONE KNOW WERE I CAN GET A MASTER BRAKE CYLINDER REPAIR KIT...HYSTER#54538A? THANKS,JOHN

I have a QN-20. Parts are scarce and part numbers are difficult to cross reference. I had my master cylinder sleeved and rebuilt by White Post Restorations in Virginia I think. They have a website,- search White Post Restorations. They do all old cars and seem to have sources for all old and obsolete parts for brakes.

Look on ebay for Hyster FD4886. $40.00 shipped.
Might not be correct .
Does yours have a casting #.
White Post did good by me.

i going to pull mine off and see about a casting number. and will check white post. i just dug out the original parts book which i got with the forklift, i see on the front someone wrote milwakee engine and eqiuptment, i will check that too. thanks for info.

I don't think they're worth all that much. Not much of a following. But mine is dear to me. My dad bought it new in about 1956 when we went to bins on our fruit farm. I learned to drive on it when I was about ten years old in the late 1950's. In those days they called it a "lift truck" not a forklift. Funny how you remember these things.

Get me a casting # and I might be able to figure out a part #. Bore size would be good too as one casting can have several different part#s due to different bore size in some cases.

i will. didnt get it off yet. i keep using it! i got a 2nd metal lathe for my shop. a very accurate one, almost new. been moving things around to get it in place. after what i learning from you guys, i will keep in mind remaching it myself.

John You mentioned a manual for your QN-20. I have had no luck finding one. Any chance you could make a copy?

Ron

sure, I see the book binder unscrews, they don't do that stuff anymore. whats the best way to copy all 2 sided pages?
