issues running implement rims backwards?

Is there any problems or reasons not to run implement rims flipped backwards? I want to put a set of truck tires on another set of rims to use when clipping thorn trees in pastures but the rims I have won't fit if I put them on the right way.

I reversed one of my rear rim's about 40 years ago on the left side of my garden tractor. I have it that way for plowing the garden. When I have the rear discharge rotary mower on it I have to switch the rim back. Hal

I have used them backwards on our honey wagon, I would NEVER run them that way if I where using it on the road! Hard to find implement rims as most old ones a rusted out and tube type. Tubes are not cheap. I would like to find some tube less rims they are easier to mount and care for.
Just be safe !

If the rim's lug holes are the same on both sides, or if there is a duplicate set of holes for reverse mounting it should not hurt the rims. Moving the wheel out further from the hub will increase the cantilevered load on the wheel bearings.

generally no issue on 2wd machines except increased bearing load as mentioned. however, if you have 4wd.. check your manual. some will instruct you not to dish your front rims..
