Here is an organization that people concerned about the future of agriculture should support.

What do you all think about it?

Grrr. My first message did not post. I guess you will get the simplified version now.
The recent commodity boom has promoted agricultural development in other parts of the world. They do not have the investment in equipment and structures so they will remain competitive with lower prices creating more stress on US farmers as margins tighten.
NASA is developing artificial food which will be available in a couple of decades on a large scale with applications to feed starving populations on Earth. Political parties may heavily promote this as a way of creating more class warfare with US farmers being the "haves" versus the "have nots." Some people frankly do not care how they are nourished. I know it seems impossible as I am a stickler for enjoying the meal via taste but I could see people conditioned to settle for less such as they were with reduced wages and benefits and increased hours plus loss of the Monday through Friday 9 to 5 schedule.

Yes. However, what NASA is trying to do is find a way to mass produce carbohydrates and proteins without plant or animal matter since that would be comparatively efficient for long term/ long distance travel. They have already produced small samples but I know little about how it is done as the process is most likely classified. Not that being classified means much nowadays.
