I think I'm gonna start putting all my hay into broam.

That is one tough grass and doesn't winter/drought kill. :>)

It is brome, it is very heavy, hoping I can get it dried down now. The snows we had late winter and early spring brought did wonders for it.
 
With these spring rains the brome has just exploded. It is 40 inches tall here and all headed out. I've two tractors hooked to mowers and waiting for a window to knock it down, Drive around the county and you see brome popping up in a lot of the older alfalfa stands.
 
I mowed some brome yesterday that was knee high from my sitting position on the Farmall. Little bit of overlapping fertilizer spreading (operator error on my part) and the perfect amount of rain makes it do wonders.
 
You only get one cutting of Brome. It is cool season grass and it will almost go dormant after it heads out.
 
I envy you! See my pic above, we can't even get a push
mower on The hayfields right now from all the rain! Have no
idea when it will dry out because the Clay just holds the water!
